What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?
We are providing ABA in Louisville, Lexington & Florence, KY & New Albany, Indiana, as well as counseling and related behavior services, we represent applied behavior analysis as a distinct therapy separate from all others. Clinical Behavior Analysis is a sub-discipline within Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) that represents a movement in behavior therapy away from cognitivism, toward behaviorism. In particular, functional analysis (learning) and behavioral models of verbal behavior (communication). As a quality provider of behavior analysis & therapy services, we represent a philosophy which is squarely within the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) framework based on dimensions of Clinical Behavior Analysis.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Community Reinforcement Approach & Family Training (CRAFT)
Kohlenberg & Tsai’s Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP)
Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT)
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
In most talk therapies, the therapist has no control over the client’s daily life or contingencies outside the treatment session. The fundamental theoretical issue facing the behavior analyst is,”how can the talking that goes on during the session help the client with problems that occur outside the session in the client’s daily life?”A historical analysis and the application of verbal behavior are used to answer these questions and help form the basis of clinical behavior analysis (CBA). The implications of CBA range from providing a theoretical base for behavioral-psychotherapy to suggesting new forms of behavior disorder treatments.
